Welcome and thank you for joining me on my first blog post!
In this blog, I will be teaching you guys how to play the competitive sport of Chess. Chess has been around since the 6th century and is growing at a static amount! Enough Small talk, let's get into it!
How the pieces can move:
Pawn: can move two spaces from the beginning position. After that, it can only advance one square forward. Unless attacking, then it can attack diagonally!
Rook: The castle looking piece can move as many spaces forward, backward left or right as the user chooses.
Knight: The horse looking piece moves in the shape of an L. It can move two spaces forward and one either left or right. It can do this going backward also. With this piece, you can jump over your pieces to move allowing it to have a unique ability.
Bishop: The bishop can move as many squares as it wants in a diagonal, moving forward or backward. (you have two on opposite colors)
King: The most valuable piece of the game. It can only move one space in any direction. When the opponent captures the king, the game is over!
Queen: This is the most powerful piece of the game. It can move any direction forward, backward, left, right, and even diagonally as many spaces at the user chooses.

LETS GET STARTED!
Now knowing how the pieces move, you can now play the game! The most important thing you must know about this game is that it is all about strategy. You must think about where you are placing your pieces on the board. One false move can cause you the game.
